A getaway to Napa Valley is all the better when you can bring your canine companion along. With over 100 dog-friendly wineries to choose from, finding one that appeals both to you and your pup can be challenging. Here are a few of our favorite dog-friendly wineries in the valley to get you started.
Dogs are greeted at the door with a treat at this St. Helena winery. HALL Wines has hosted Humane Society fundraisers in the past, as well as the recurring Harvest Hounds celebration, a day of doggie activities, socialization, and snacks with proceeds benefiting Napa Humane. Be sure to walk the grounds with one of their award-winning Cabernets in hand and take in the modern art collection of this celebrated Napa Valley winery. 401 St Helena Hwy, St. Helena, CA
St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery in Rutherford may fly under-the-radar, but the winery is a favorite amongst dog visitors. Their charismatic and knowledgeable staff is known to treat their canine guests with a St. Supéry bandana and treat. Try their distinctive Napa Valley Estate Élu wine, with aromas of deep black plum, blackberry, espresso, and notes of anise, followed by flavors of cassis, molasses, and toasted barrel for extra depth and texture. Your dog is welcome inside and out on the beautiful grounds, which combines the French château tradition with Napa Valley terroir. 8440 St Helena Hwy, Rutherford
As one of the only wineries that allows dogs inside, Jessup Cellars in Yountville has a reputation for hosting one of the friendliest tasting rooms in all of wine country. Their friendly and attentive staff loves having your four-legged friend around at this down-to-earth winery. Try the coveted Table for Four red blend, while you tour their exceptional collection of original paintings and sculptures by regional and national artists. You can even purchase a Table for Four and Wine Dogs California book package, which features over 120 wineries from the Golden State with portraits of their loyal pooches, interspersed with short essays. 6740 Washington St, Yountville
Also be sure to visit V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena. Dogs can accompany you inside for tastings and to pick out gourmet items from their artisanal deli. Afterwards, lounge on their vast picnic grounds for some rest and relaxation. Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga is also a wonderful place to bring along your furry companion. The castle has sprawling lush grounds you can explore, and climbing around the castle’s towers by the main entrance is fun to navigate with your pooch!
